Quote-of-the-post: “When something bad happens you have three choices, you can either let it define you, let it destroy you or let it strengthen you.”
I had a very very busy week. It was hectic, exhausting, exciting and of course, eventful.
4D3N Leadership Training Camp (7 to 10 June)
As usual, I was NOT looking forward to it. I hate camps, if you didn't know. I whined non-stop, sorry friends of mine for having to constantly listen to my annoying complaints. And AS USUAL, it turns out to be fine, better than fine actually. I've learnt a whole bunch of shit I never knew and I can safely say that this camp was like no other.
We had a hell lot of debriefs a.k.a reflection time, maybe a little too much. They were really useful, although if all of us were really honest it'll be far more constructive. The activities planned for us were really to make us think of our values we had chosen earlier to live by throughout the camp and also realise how easily we can forgo our values in order to succeed in the games. It's pretty scary, considering they're just games we're playing and imagine what we will forsake in real life situations.
The most memorable part of the camp (I'm pretty sure almost everyone would agree with me) was the Physical Training (PT for short). The camp facilitators said that it wasn't planned at all but because it was raining so they couldn't conduct the Running Man activity, and they felt it was required, that they decided to have the PT. We had to do squats, push-ups, 'Buddha clapping', crutches and planking. I was like, "so this is how NS feels like." LOL, I just had to say that. I mean we had to count out loud, if the facilitators are not satisfied we had to recount from the beginning. Also, we had to be quick when we're changing our positions for the next set. So yeah, everyone was perspiring horribly and completely worn out. The floor was wet with our sweat. Therefore, it was really an experience. It was a good wake up call for all of us, because we lacked discipline and a sense of urgency.
Lastly, something new for me, WE HAD CLUBBING. After campfire, they blasted music and switched off the lights in the hall and we just PARTIED LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. Hahah, thinking back, it's rather funny now we were all jumping and screaming the lyrics of the songs.
Alright time to end the talking! PHOTO TIME! We're such little camwhores.
(Photos aren't taken by me! Just saying. And most of them are taken with phone cameras so they're slightly blurry)
