Bali Trip part 2

DAY 2

The guy who was driving us to Telaga Waja for our river rafting session brought us here first. There are plantation all over, and a shop which sells Balinese coffee and other various drinks. They do have Kopi Luwak as well, but we didn't try it. We were given several drinks to try out and they were pretty good! But those beverages with sugar added were reaaaaally sweet. If they didn't add so much sugar, they would turn out much better.

I have to admit, I was a little scared before we got on the boat for our rafting. I knew that there was going to be a drop (about 4 meters) because I read it online and the guide told us as well (he gave us a short briefing on what to expect and what to do in certain scenarios). I really hate that sinking feeling in my stomach during a drop, which is why I tend to avoid roller coasters these days. When he was preparing us for the drop, we had to lie down instead of sit upright, my teeth were chattering really badly. I know a 4-meter drop doesn't seem much as compared to the roller coasters I had been on before, but on this boat, there's no seat belts or whatsoever to keep us on the damn raft. Turns out, my fears were for nothing and it was really fun!!

After a quick lunch there, food was included in the package we paid for, we headed back to our hotel. Since we had time, we quickly booked a spa session at Lagoon Spa Seminyak. They had available slots, so all three of us girls got the Balinese Spa Experience which was 3 hours long. The free transport service is only one way and your treatment has to be a minimum of 120 minutes, do take note! We ended up cabbing there and letting them send us back.

This was my very first spa experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Like urgh, I want a massage right now. Before the spa, you would be given a form to fill up, where they would question if you have any allergies and if you want them to concentrate on a certain area, how hard you want your massage to be, etc. And not to worry, you can also verbally inform your masseuse during the course of your massage if they are massaging too hard or whatsoever. Don't be shy to ask questions or tell them if you're feeling uncomfortable! They were really cordial and friendly.

Our spa started out with a quick foot bath, followed by a rejuvenating Balinese massage and vanilla coconut scrub. We chose to have a flower bath next instead of a 15 minutes message. Loved the flower petals, but I have no idea what sort of flowers they were. I had forgotten to ask. :( But anyway, it was fun soaking in the tub with my cousin! My mum had a room all on her own while I had a couple one with my cousin. The spa ended with a facial, although you could chose some sort of hair wash instead. The entire experience was concluded with ginger tea and a really yummy cookie. They also provide bottled water for free.

I have no prior spa experience, so there is nothing for me to compare with, but yeah I left the place feeling pampered and relaxed.

Walked over to Beachwalk mall for dinner. We had a hard time choosing where to eat and finally we decided to go to their food court, Eat & Eat, which is like Singapore's Kopitiam (ok wait, it's more like Republic at VivoCity).

goodnight
