Cruising Nowhere

Hi, second half of 2021. I'm back. A few days ago, I went on a 3-night cruise to nowhere. There were only two choices for us in Singapore, Dream and Royal Caribbean cruises, and we decided to go with Royal Caribbean. We booked for the getaway in April when things were turning for the better, until May hit and the Heightened Alert happened. So we're unfortunate (or fortunate, since dine-in are now permitted, so depending on how you see it) enough and have to dine in groups of two. At least, other activities were limited to 5 pax.
This post is by no means a guide or a review for my Cruise to Nowhere experience. I thought of doing one since I had gotten a lot of help from these online guides, vlogs and reviews. Really, a huge shoutout to these patient and kind souls for the effort and time spent in writing/putting together the information for anyone's reference FOC. But anyway, I got lazy and here we are, my usual style of posting a bunch of photos I took — without much text.
If it helps, everything we did or ate was included in our ticket (aka complimentary, with no additional cost). The only thing we forked out money for was the casino and to give tips to the friendly guy who did our housekeeping. So do bring along some USD cash if you do intend to spend on board, unless you prefer to use a card.
Also, the itinerary, opening hours of the dining options and almost everything you need to know can be found on their app. Do download and log in after you had made your booking as you'll need to do the relevant check-in in the app itself too.

Bumper cars! Gotta make reservations on the app for a slot |
Right: We managed to catch the sky full of stars when we were departing the port and it was beautiful. That was also when I realised it has been so long since I've been able to see that many stars in the sky.
Day 2, Breakfast at the Main Dining Room |
Seats at the indoor pool area which looks super comfy |
Left: We brought along a few games and managed to play them all. It's not that the cruise didn't have enough activities, they do, but we're just a bunch of lazy kids who enjoy chilling in the room.
Left: Day 3, Room Service - Continental breakfast. We woke up late, after 10am, and most of the breakfast places were closing or closed. Hence, we ordered in, since they serve till 11am. Note that only the continental breakfast is complimentary while the American breakfast — the one with eggs, etc. — has a service fee. You can find the menu on the app or the TV (or here).
We spent a good amount of time in our room and balcony, just to relax as well as enjoy the view. We did not pay for the internet, so we were all kind of cut off from the rest of the world which felt amazing. I doubt this will be my last cruise. ;)
