Orlando Part 1

Happy New Year readers! :)

If you don't know already, I went to USA during my winter break with my family, Ethel and her mother. So, I spent half my December , which also means half my holidays (urgh holidays need to be longer), there. Stayed in Orlando for 9 nights and New York for another 4 nights. It's my first time in Orlando, the land of theme parks (as I'd like to call it).

First off, the flight there was horrible. My neck hurt, my body ached and my appetite lost. I swear, the more flights I take, the more I hate them. On top of the usual SG to Frankfurt to New York, we had to take a domestic flight to Orlando. That's another 2-3 hours on the plane. All I wanted was any kind of horizontal surface to lie down the moment I disembarked the aircraft. Ok, I might be exaggerating.. not.

Nevertheless, it was my first time on another airline other than SIA. We took JetBlue for the domestic flight. It was funny how there was free WiFi on board the flight for JetBlue and you had to pay money if you wanted to use the Wifi for SIA. It's that kind of logic where there is free WiFi available in cheaper hotels and on the other hand, you had to pay a fee in the expensive hotels. *shrugs*

Upon touching down in Orlando, we immediately headed to our lodging, Staybridge Suites Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Prior to our trip, we paid and got Orlando Shuttle Service for our transport between the airport and our suite. It had cost us a total USD144 for the 6 of us, return trip, including the 20% driver gratuity and any tax/toll. The driver was waiting for us at the baggage claim carousel already when we got there, so we quickly grabbed our luggage and left the airport.

Kitchen yeshhhhh

(Pssst, I got lazy and didn't take more photos of our place.)

After checking in and doing some unpacking, we left for dinner. After dinner, we did more unpacking and slept. All of us were dead tired.

And now.. WE MOVE ON TO DAY 1! Animal Kingdom here we come ;)

Our admission cards

Animal Kingdom is basically a zoo with a few thrill rides (about 4).

Fun performance by Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe which engaged the audience to participate with them in dancing to the beat of the drums

There are a lot of activities for the kids, such as the Wilderness Explorers where they have to complete challenges at various stations over the park to obtain badges.

By the way, this is an example of a stroller parking. And it wasn't even considered a crowded park that day we went.

I fell in love with their information boards, they're like drawn in chalk! But you can't smudge them.

Look at them tights (cool ass okapi)

Festival of the Lion King performance which was amazing!!

Flights of Wonder show
Loved the humor incorporated, the audience engagement and gorgeous birds
