The End of a Phase

This marks the end of 16 years of education.

This post is a little late, considering my commencement date was back in August. I had this post prepped and almost ready for posting but just never felt that it was the right time. I was stuck in between the two phases — graduating and embarking on the adult/work life. Went through the process of applying for jobs, going for interviews, getting rejected and now finally, receiving an offer. So here's the long-awaited "I've graduated" post.

Watching Le Coup de Foudre gave me a lot of feels, nostalgic ones to be precise. About one-third of the show was set in the main leads' high school and I couldn't help but reminiscence my own school days. I miss the days we had a form class — where we knew everyone's name, where we could joke and make fun of one another, where we could laugh freely.

University was the complete opposite.

Classes felt more serious — we discuss on current world problems and solutions (not that it's a bad thing). Every class/module was with a different group of people (well, mostly). You barely spend 12 weeks together each semester (each lesson is only 3 hours long, and only once a week). So almost everyone I knew were basically hi-bye acquaintances. I'm sure there are many others who hold a different opinion from me. I've heard of or known many who had found their other half, or their closest friends through university. So, I'm not saying everyone would have felt the same way as I did about uni but it was just a very different experience compared to my pri/sec/jc days.

It's truly bittersweet thinking back of those days.

Now, those days are long gone and all we're left with are memories. I'll be entering a new phase of my life very soon. Here's to growing up and adulting.

Of course, couldn't have gotten through anything without her.

Our group went back to MJC to have our grad photos taken.
